The Cove [2009]

The Cove is a documentary film and was released in August 2009. The gutsy infiltration showed in this film of exposing the vicious undertaking of natural resources was such a bold move. The team and the production had done great in this documentary.

This film at first glance was quite like a random just-OK-film, but after what was revealed in this motion picture it incinerated emotions globally not just only for those who loved dolphins but to all who cared about nature. This film may be very disturbing as it may be considered a crime for a relentless slaughter.

This documentary was nominated and won several awards like, Academy Awards, American Cinema Editors, Directors Guild of America, LA Film Critics Association Awards, and many more. This is a great documentary and is recommended to be seen, but not for weak stomach. I'll have an 8/10 rating for this film.

Siren X [2008]

Siren X is an Adult | Horror | Thriller movie that was released in May 2008. It has been a folktale in some countries about some powerful being alluring people, treating them well, and give them their heat desires, ending in some tragic events like removal of limbs, flesh be eaten, or soul be taken. This time, it's a beautiful, lustful demon in a form of a woman singing attractive songs that men could not endure but succumb to their sexual desires tricked for having their souls in exchange of the pleasure.

What this movie failed is that, the she-demon should have been charming men to fall in line to have an intense moment with her, so as the title described - she could have a daily dosage then. But it seemed that she only sang when a man had actually seen her, there are not much singing scenes either and I can't even hear her voice. It's like being focused more on the "X" side instead of the "Siren" side - I guess that would be a sexy, pretty, and luscious cast be portrayed. She also had followed some guys to some places just to have fun with him - includes the murders - instead of those guys being following her. But maybe, that would a lustful demon could do, especially when she had eyed a stag to play on longer.

This is a not so good creepy and busty film, but it gave me some chills thinking that beautiful women might have intentions as a hungry sensual demon. Just don't let some kids be left to watch this alone - they might get scared. I'll have a 4/10 rating for this movie.

Hachiko: A Dog's Story [2009]

Hachiko: A Dog's Story is a Drama | Family movie that was released in August 2009. An English film based from a true story of an Akita born dog in Japan of the unconditional love the dog had to the person. I guess, this account would be a rare case of a story of this like, since, having a statue as tribute to the dog is very extraordinary, especially for animals. It just showed how immense the bond between the person and the dog to those around them, and to those who found this storyline favorable.

What this film had failed is that the bond between the dog and the owner was so intense but their interaction with each other was minimal and nothing was uncommon. Maybe because the owner spend more time working and he had his family, or maybe it was just that the dog was born different. The film showed that the owner's happiness was remarkable when he was with Hachi, actually, he was often together with Hachi than with his wife, maybe because she's old or it's because she's allergic with the fur. The storyline was pretty simple, but Hachi's fondness ranked atop other dogs.

A storyline based from true events would gave a different affection on viewers even though the production would be low. Especially, when you can actually relate to the story. As for this film, I think you'll going to give your dog a good hug after the show. Well - although shameful - I got teary-eyed from this movie because I remembered our late dog. When I was a kid, he was about twice my size, most black in color and hairy, a crossbreed from a German Shepherd line. A very scary appearance for a dog, but he was very kind me, we even played almost everyday that's why I cried when that beloved pet of ours passed away.

This is a great film for animal friendship and welfare and is advisable to be watched with friends or family. Recommended to those affectionate with animals and pets, especially dogs. I'll have an 8/10 rating for the movie.

Trigun - The Movie

The tentatively titled "Trigun the Movie" project will feature a completely original story from Nightow and Trigun series director Satoshi Nishimura (Hajime no Ippo/Fighting Spirit, Shin Cho Bakumatsu Shonen Seiki Takamaru), as well as a script by Yasuko Kobayashi (Claymore, Shakugan no Shana, Witchblade anime). Takahiro Yoshimatsu (Jubei-chan - Secret of the Lovely Eyepatch, Ninja Scroll series) will return from the Trigun television series to design the characters that Madhouse will animate.

Trigun (トライガン, Toraigan) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yasuhiro Nightow, published from 1995 to 2007 and spanning 14 collected volumes. The manga was serialized in Tokuma Shoten's Shōnen Captain from the series debut in 1995 until the magazine's demise in 1997. The series continued in Shōnen Gahosha's Young King Ours magazine, under the title Trigun Maximum (トライガンマキシマム, Toraigan Makishimamu), where it remained until finishing in 2007. Trigun was adapted into an animated television series in 1998. The Madhouse Studios production aired on TV Tokyo from April 4, 1998 to September 30 1998, totaling 26 episodes. An animated feature film is expected in 2009.

Known for its Space Western theme, Trigun is about a man named "Vash the Stampede" and the two Bernardelli Insurance Society employees who follow him around in order to minimize the damages inevitably caused by his appearance. Most of the damage attributed to Vash is actually caused by bounty hunters in pursuit of the "60,000,000,000$$" (sixty billion "double dollars") bounty on Vash's head for the destruction of the city of July. However, he cannot remember the incident clearly due to his amnesia. Throughout his travels, Vash tries to save lives using non-lethal force. He is occasionally joined by a priest, Nicholas D. Wolfwood, who, like Vash, is a superb gunfighter with a mysterious past. As the series progresses, more is gradually learned about Vash's mysterious history and the history of human civilization on the planet Gunsmoke. The series often employs comic relief and is mostly light-hearted in tone, although the tone shifts toward darker and more dramatic situations as it draws to a conclusion. It also involves moral conflict pertaining to the morality of killing other living things, even when arguably justified (i.e. self-defense/defending others).

The official Trigun - The Movie site is currently in Nihongo. English translation coming up, hopefully. The movie was planned for Japan in 2009. Classic “cyber SF western” anime Trigun is set to return with a theatrical anime in the spring of 2010.
